Thousands of Nicaraguans have taken part in a protest demanding justice for the killing of anti-government protesters.

At least 43 people died during demonstrations against the government's proposed social security reforms.

Rohingya demand justice as UN delegation visits Bangladesh camps

A UN Security Council delegation has met hundreds of Rohingya refugees who've fled the military crackdown in Myanmar.

The group has been assessing the situation across the border in Bangladesh, where some 700,000 Rohingya are living in makeshift camps.

Pashtuns continue to rally for greater rights in Pakistan

Following rallies in Peshawar and Lahore, ethnic Pashtuns gathered in Swat demanding greater rights in Pakistan.

They're calling for the military to remove landmines and checkpoints - as well as the return of many who've disappeared.

Army commanders are angry at the anti-military protests but are offering to hold talks.

Mike Pompeo to Saudi Arabia: 'Gulf unity is necessary'

New US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has underscored the need for unity in the Gulf region, as he visits the Middle East, to musteri support for new sanctions against Iran.

Speaking in the Saudi capital, he urged the kingdom and its allies to resolve an almost year-long blockade of Qatar that US officials say Iran is exploiting to boost its regional influence.

The Australian government has announced almost $400m dollars in funding to help save the Great Barrier Reef.

Climate change has caused water temperatures to rise which is killing coral on the world's largest reef.

Divisions over Brexit are deepening between leaders in London and the Scottish parliament in Edinburgh.

South Korea says North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has promised to dismantle its nuclear test site next month.

The pledge was made during Kim's summit with President Moon Jae-in on Friday.

But there is no word about the future of North Korea's ballistic missile programme, or whether Pyongyang will agree to demands by US President Donald Trump, to get rid of its existing nuclear arsenal.

They say they are escaping from violence and persecution in Central America, but US President Donald Trump wants them turned away.

Until last year, the sitting president attended every event for more than three decades.
