Jharkhand: A Muslim Man, Suspected of Carrying Beef, Beat on the Road, Death

In the Ramgarh district of Jharkhand, on Thursday, a person was beaten to death on the charge of taking beef.

Police sources said that Alimuddin alias Asghar Ansari was taking 'restricted meat' in a Maruti van.

Sources said that a group of people stopped him in the Bajaratand village and ruthlessly attacked him. His van was handed over to the fire. The policemen rescued him from the crowd and admitted him to the hospital, where he died during treatment.

Additional Director General of Police RK Malik said, "It is a planned killing."

The official said, "A charge sheet was filed against Asghar for abduction and murder of the child."

He said that some people involved in Beef's business conspired to murder him.

According to the official, "the killers have been identified."

This is the second such case in Jharkhand within the last three days. A crowd in Giridih district had beaten the Muslim owner of the house after getting a dead cow outside the house and set fire to the house.

Election Commission Declares the Vice Presidential Election Program

In India, the Election Commission has declared an election program on Thursday (June 29) for the election of the 15th Vice President. He said that if necessary, elections will be held for the post of Vice-President on August 5. The members of the electoral college formed by the elected and nominated representatives of both the Houses of Parliament can vote for the election of Vice-President under the President and Vice Presidential Elections Act, 1952 and the rules made for this purpose. For this, all the members of the electoral college will be able to vote in the poll on August 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the electoral college, 543 elected members of the Lok Sabha and two nominated MPs, while the Rajya Sabha has 233 nominated and 12 nominated MPs, a total of 790 members are included.

Zaidi said that the counting of Vice Presidential elections will be done on the day of polling, on August 5. The term of the current Vice-President Hamid Ansari ends on 10 August 2017. Before this, it is necessary to complete the 15th Vice-President's election process.

Zaidi said that the Election Commission has arranged the use of special PEN for voting in the Vice Presidential election on the lines of Presidential Election. All the voters of the electoral college must their vote by the ballot from PEN provided at the polling place by the commission.

He clarified that according to the election rules, if voters used any other PEN on the ballot, their vote would be treated as invalid.

He said that the Commission has appointed Secretary General of Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Sharif as the election officer in consultation with the central government, to be the election officer for the Vice Presidential election. Apart from this, some officials of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat have been appointed as Assistant Returning Officers. After the notification was issued by the Commission on July 4, the Election Officer will announce the place and other necessary information to complete the election process through an order.

Zaidi said that for nomination for the Vice Presidential election, 20 proposers and so much approbatory will be required. While each candidate will have to deposit as security deposit of Rupees 15 thousand along with the nomination papers.

He clarified that no political party will be able to issue Whip for Vice Presidential election. Whip or order issuance of members of electoral board will be considered as a violation of the Rules of Election.

He informed that both Ansari and Pandit have been admitted for treatment in the hospital where their condition remained stable. Both were admitted to Dhanbad Hospital for better treatment.
