King Charles III becomes Britain's new monarch

Soon after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, her successor and former Prince Charles of Wales got the British throne without any ceremony.

But he must go through a number of practical and traditional rules before being crowned as the new emperor.

He would now be known as King Charles III.

This is the first decision taken by the new emperor as soon as he took over the throne. He could choose between Charles, Philip, Arthur and George.

He is not the only one in the British royal family whose title will change.

Prince Williams is now the heir to the throne but will not automatically become Prince of Wales. However, he would immediately inherit his father's title, Duke of Cornwall. His wife Catherine would now be known as the Duchess of Cornwall.

Now Charles' wife, Camilla, will also get a new title. Her full title will now be Queen Consort. The same title is used for the wife of the emperor.

Charles will be officially declared monarch on Saturday, September 10, 2022. For this, the program will be held in St James's Palace in London in front of a formal body named Assessment Council (Accession Council).

This council consists of the members of the Privy Council. It consists of former and current senior MPs, their counterparts, as well as some senior bureaucrats, the High Commissioner of the Commonwealth and the Lord Mayor of London.

700 people are authorized to take part in the Privy Council, but due to time constraints, very few will actually be able to attend it. The last accession council held in 1952 was attended by 200 people.

At the meeting, the Queen's demise will be announced by the Lord President of the Privy Council and the associated declaration will be read. At present, MP Penny Mordant is its president.

The wording of the manifesto is subject to change, but it traditionally consists of prayers and oaths expressing gratitude to the former emperor and allegiance to the new emperor.

After this, many senior people including the Prime Minister sign this manifesto. Apart from the Prime Minister, there are also signatures of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Lord Chancellor.

During this ceremony, attention will be drawn to the changes made in the words to symbolize the new era.

Emperor's first manifesto

Usually the day after this the Assessment Council meets again, this time with the Emperor as well as members of the Privy Council.

Like the President of the United States and many other heads of state, there is no swearing in at the beginning of the reign of the monarch of Britain. But the new monarch will take an oath to protect the Church of Scotland in a tradition dating back to the 18th century.

This will be followed by a public announcement of Charles becoming the new emperor with pomp and fanfare. This announcement will be made by the official named Garter King of Arms from the balcony of the Friary Court of St James's Palace.

In 1969, Queen Elizabeth II crowned son Charles as Prince of Wales.

When Charles calls out "God save the king", the words will be "God save the king" when the national anthem is played for the first time since 1952.

From Hyde Park, the Tower of London, and from ships of the British Navy, he would be given a salute of guns, and at Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, Charles would be proclaimed King.

Symbolically, the most important time of accession will be when Charles will be formally crowned. But due to the preparations, the coronation of Charles will take time. Queen Elizabeth was also proclaimed Queen in February 1952 but was crowned in June 1953.

The coronation has been taking place at Westminster Abbey for the last 900 years. The first emperor to be crowned here was William the Conqueror and Charles would be the fortieth emperor to be crowned here.

It will be a religious ceremony of the English Church, which will be presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury. At the end of the coronation ceremony, he will place the St. Edwards crown on Charles's head. This solid gold crown was made in 1661.

It is the most prominent of the British royal family's ornaments kept in the Tower of London and is only worn by the monarch at the time of coronation. One reason for this is that it weighs 2.23 kg.

Unlike royal weddings, the coronation is a state festival, which is borne by the government and the guest list is fixed by the government.

There is also music at the coronation and the consecration ceremony of the emperor. Oils of orange, rose, cinnamon, musk and ambergris are used in this.

The new emperor will wear the crown before the eyes of the world. In this elaborate ceremony the emperor would receive a royal ornament (orb) and scepter as a symbol of his authority, and the Archbishop of Canterbury would place a solid gold crown on his head.

President of the Commonwealth

Charles has also become the President of the Commonwealth. It is a group of 56 countries with a population of 2.4 billion. Of these, the heads of state of Britain and fourteen other countries will be Charles.

These countries called Commonwealth Realms are Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, Papua New Guinea, Saint Christopher and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, New Zealand, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.

In his speech during a meeting of the Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Putin called it an economic attack by Western countries on Russia.

He warned that Europeans were sacrificing their quality of life because of the restrictions, while the poorer countries were facing a food crisis.

Referring to Ukraine's grain, he said that Europe is deceiving the poor countries on this pretext. The port there was closed by Russian troops for several months due to the Ukraine war.

Putin says that it is wrong to say that only two ships of grain have gone to Africa since exports started in August 2022. Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. At present, it also controls many areas of Ukraine.

Six months later, Russian forces have retreated from areas around the Ukrainian capital Kiev and the northern part of Ukraine, while Russian troops are also facing Ukrainian retaliation from the southern and eastern sides.

Israel admits: Akleh was accidentally shot by an IDF soldier

Nearly four months after the death of Palestinian-American journalist Shirin Abu Akleh, Israel has admitted in its report that one of its soldiers mistakenly killed al-Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Akleh.

Akleh was shot in May 2022 when she had gone to cover a raid in the West Bank.

However, top army legal officials have also ruled out launching a criminal investigation against the soldiers involved in the attack.

Abu Akleh's family said they were not "surprised" as the Israeli military was constantly trying to hide the truth and avoid taking responsibility for the killing.

Abu Akleh went to cover Israel's raid on Jinin in the West Bank on May 11, 2022. During this, firing started between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian extremists. At the time of the attack, Abu Akleh was wearing a jacket with 'PRESS' written in large letters.

Different sides were coming out on the cause of Abu Akleh's death.

Witnesses and Palestinian officials said Akleh was shot by Israeli soldiers. The claim was later supported by the United Nations and various press investigative agencies. The US review found that Akleh was probably shot by Israeli soldiers.

Now Israel's Security Forces (IDF) have said that they have completed the ongoing internal investigation.

A senior IDF official said it was highly suspected that Akleh was accidentally shot by an IDF soldier and that the soldier, of course, did not understand that Akleh was a journalist.

The officer also said that investigators spoke to the attacking soldier. "The soldier told what he actually did, and if he did, it was a mistake," he said.

However, no statement has come about sharing the waters of Teesta river between the two countries. There is no final agreement between the two countries on the Teesta river due to the objections of the West Bengal government.

PM Modi at Hyderabad House said, "There are 54 rivers that pass through the India-Bangladesh border, and have been linked to the livelihood of the people of both the countries for centuries."

Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi has said that cooperation against terrorism and fundamentalism has also been discussed between the two countries.

Mahathir Mohamad criticized America and Europe for Russia

Malaysia's longest-serving prime minister, Mahathir Mohamad, has targeted the European Union countries while supporting Russia. He has accused NATO and the US of provoking Russia.

Mahathir Mohamad, who was hospitalized due to COVID two days ago, has fiercely criticized European countries by tweeting a total of 17 from there.

He wrote, "I don't want to generalize. But in this case I have no option but to generalize. That's because that's usually what happens."

Mahathir Mohamad, considered a critic of Western countries, has called the battle in Ukraine the best example of Europe's strategy.

He said, "I believe that European countries are used to war to kill people. It has been seen for thousands of years that hardly a year has passed when there has been no war between the countries of Europe.''

He further said that European countries glorify wars and celebrate death. He has also accused Europe of making the killers heroes, glorifying them, erecting their statues and holding ceremonies in their memory.

According to Mahathir Mohamad, "They prepare for battle with drills and war games. They are constantly inventing weapons to kill more people. They say that countries must prepare for war to maintain peace.''

Referring to Russia being an ally of Western countries in the Second World War, he has said that millions of Russian people were killed, millions were injured in it. Many cities and villages were completely ruined.

Russia stops gas supply to Europe, is it a response to European sanctions?

Russia has announced the complete closure of Nord Stream 1, a vital gas pipeline to Europe, citing pipeline repairs.

Russian company Gazprom, the owner of the project, has said that gas supply from the Nord Stream 1 pipeline will be suspended for three days.

Russia is already supplying only 20 percent of its gas to Europe through this pipeline. Russia has cited faulty equipment as the reason.

However, Russia has also dismissed allegations that it has taken this step to respond to sanctions imposed after attacking Ukraine.

The Nord Stream 1 pipeline is a 1,200-kilometre long pipeline that runs from Saint Petersburg in western Russia to northeastern Germany, through the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

So far, gas from Russia to Germany is sent via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline via Ukraine. It was opened in 2011. In July 2022 also, it was closed for 10 days citing repairs.

European leaders fear Russia may create further supply disruptions to raise gas prices further. Gas prices have already gone up by 400 percent. In such a situation, living in Europe in winter is expected to be very difficult.

Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline yet to be commissioned

The laying of another pipeline 'Nord Stream 2' was completed in September 2021. Its length is also about 1,200 km.

The goal of doubling the supply of natural gas from Russia to Germany is set when the project is launched. This pipeline was to supply 55 billion cubic meters of gas to Germany every year.
