Banks can not refuse to take notes of dirty or written notes. The Reserve Bank of India has warned the banks that action will be taken against refusing to take notes. In this connection, more than 250 complaints have come from Kanpur alone.
Reserve Bank of India has said that banks can not stop customers from filing dirty or written notes. Such notes should be considered 'useless notes' and should work under RBI's 'Clean Note Policy'.
The central bank clarified that the 'useless note' does not mean that the currency is out of the currency. There were frequent complaints coming from the Reserve Bank that the banks are refusing to take such notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000, in which something has been written or which has been painted or the notes which have been discarded. Cashiers sitting at the bank counter argued that RBI has stopped taking such notes.
While giving a clarification on this, the RBI said that no instructions have been given to the banks regarding not depositing written or filthy notes. The banks were told that their staff did not write anything on the notes because most of the complaints were made by the banking staff. Also, these instructions have also been given that bad notes are not to be re-released.
RBI has clearly said that any bank which will come out in changing the bad note, will be penalized.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered an FIR against his former director Ranjit Sinha on Tuesday. Ranjit Sinha is accused of influencing the investigation of the coal scam during his tenure.
This is the second time in CBI history when former CBI director is facing criminal charges imposed by his own investigating agency.
In February this year, the CBI filed an FIR against former director AP Singh. He was accused of helping meat exporter Moin Qureshi, the accused of money laundering.
The Supreme Court had entrusted CBI Special Director ML Sharma to investigate the matter. Ranjit Sinha was the CBI director from 2012 to 2014 and during this time he met the accused in the coal scam, which included some politicians and some businessmen. This meeting was held at Ranjit Sinha's official residence.
In July 2015, the Supreme Court had entrusted the investigation to ML Sharma against Ranjit Sinha on the complaint of lawyer Prashant Bhushan. During the hearing of this case, Prashant Bhushan presented a Visitors Diary in the court.
Sources said that after ordering the court inquiry Ranjit Sinha reached the CBI Headquarters in the last week of March. For interrogation of Ranjit Sinha, the officers of the Joint Director level officer and an SP level officer of the CBI's Special Investigation Team (SIT) were involved in the investigation.
The Supreme Court had ordered an inquiry against Ranjit Sinha on January 23 this year and had instructed to constitute SIT. Not only this, the Supreme Court had ordered Alok Verma to include his favorite officers in the investigation.
Official sources said that AK Sharma is the joint director of CBI at the time. He is monitoring daily investigations in this matter.
In this matter, Ranjit Sinha said that the Supreme Court has ordered an inquiry and I can not say anything in this matter. He said that he respected the court, so no one can react in this matter.
ML Sharma's committee formed by the Supreme Court had found in the investigation that at first glance, it seems that Ranjit Sinha had tried to influence the investigations of coal mine allocation cases. He also met the accused many times at his residence.
The ML Sharma Committee dubbed the Visitors' Diary of Ranjit Sinha's official residence as correct. It was said in the report that it is possible from these interventions that Ranjit Sinha has tried to influence the investigation work.
The Supreme Court cited his order on May 14, 2015, instructing to investigate the allegation of misuse of the post held on Ranjit Sinha. In this order, the court had said that in the absence of the investigating officer or the investigating team, the meeting of Ranjit Sinha with the accused of the coal block allocation case is totally inappropriate. The Supreme Court had asked ML Sharma to investigate the conduct of Ranjit Sinha in the order of May 14, 2015.

The Supreme Court has issued a major decision regarding the job in the reserved category. The court said that the candidate of the reserved category will get a job in the reserved category, even if he has not achieved more marks than the general category candidates.
The bench of Justice R Bhanumati and Justice AM Khanwilkar said that once the applicant has applied in the reserved category and after getting the other concession, the candidate will be entitled to the job only for the reserved category. It can not be adjusted in the general category.
The bench of the Supreme Court gave this decision in the case of the female candidate of the reserved category. The petitioner had approached the court that she should be given a job in the general category as she has secured more marks than the general category candidates in the written examination.
The court said that the DOPT's July 1, 1999 rules of proceedings and clear in the OM, the SC / ST and OBC candidate, who have been selected on the basis of their merit, will not be adjusted in the reserved category.
In the same way when SC / ST and OBC candidates are given exemptions such as age limit, experience, educational qualification, more opportunities for written examination, they will be considered for reserved vacancies only. Such candidates will be treated as unavailable for unreserved vacancies.
The petitioner had applied in the OBC category with a rebate of age limit. She also gave interviews in the OBC category. Therefore, she can not claim the right of appointment in the general category.
For example, if a candidate declares himself in the reserved category while filling the application and takes advantage of it. But later, if its points are equal or more than the general category cutoff, then its selection will be for reserved seats only. Under this, it will not get general category seats.
Deepa PV applied to the OBC category for the Lab Assistant Grade-II in the Indian Export Inspection Council under the Ministry of Commerce. She got 82 points in the examination for this. In OBC category, 11 people were called for interviewing her. But Serena Joseph, who scored 93 points in this class, was chosen.
As far as the general category was concerned, the minimum cutoff score was 70. But no candidate could bring these marks. Deepa filed a petition in the High Court for adjusting to this category, but the High Court dismissed it. After this, Deepa reached the Supreme Court.
