America refuses to give evidence against Nikhil Gupta in Pannu case

The US government has objected to giving evidence against Nikhil Gupta in the court and has said that defense material i.e. evidence will not be given to Nikhil Gupta's lawyer in this case until he is produced in the New York court.

Nikhil Gupta is the main accused in the case of a failed conspiracy to assassinate a Khalistani leader in the US and is currently in jail in the Czech Republic.

The lawyer of Indian citizen Nikhil Gupta had appealed to the New York court that the US government should provide evidence of the allegations against Nikhil Gupta. But now the US government has refused to do so.

In November 2023, America has claimed that Indian citizen Nikhil Gupta had given a contract of one lakh dollars (about Rs 83 lakh) to a person for the murder of Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in New York. Documents presented in the US court claim that "Nikhil Gupta had received instructions from an employee of the Government of India."

Nikhil Gupta is in jail in Czech Republic since June 30, 2023. The US government is making efforts for his extradition.

India has formed a high-level committee to investigate this allegation, which is investigating the matter on the basis of evidence received from America.

Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "Since childhood, we have been hearing that whatever happens is as per the will of God, since we are a republic, whatever happens here is done by the Constitution. But since 2014, a new tradition has started...which happens to be Manzoor-e-Amit Shah and Narendra Modi.''

Maharashtra Assembly Speaker's decision: Uddhav Thackeray had no right to expel Eknath Shinde from the party

Rahul Narvekar has said that Shinde faction will be the real Shiv Sena.

While announcing the decision, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar said that when rival factions emerged on June 21, 2022, the Shinde faction was the real Shiv Sena political party.

Rahul Narvekar said that there was a split in Shiv Sena on 21 June 2022. Therefore, the whip of Sunil Prabhu is not applicable after that date and hence the appointment of Bharat Gogavale as the whip is correct.

Rahul Narvekar said that the petitioners' demand for disqualification of Eknath Shinde group MLAs cannot be justified as Sunil Prabhu's whip is not in force.

Rahul Narvekar said that it was wrong on the part of Uddhav Thackeray to throw Eknath Shinde out of the party in the year 2022 because Uddhav Thackeray did not have the constitutional right to do so.

Rahul Narvekar has given this decision on the basis of the 1999 constitution of Shiv Sena party.

Rahul Narvekar said, "Since only the 1999 constitution of the Shiv Sena party has been submitted before the Election Commission, not the amended constitution of 2018. Therefore, the decision will be in accordance with the 1999 Constitution.''

Rahul Narvekar said, "The 1999 constitution of the Shiv Sena party says that the members of the national executive will lead the Shiv Sena, whereas the 2018 constitution says that the decision of the Shiv Sena party chief will be the decision of the Shiv Sena party."

But now that the Constitution of the year 2018 has been considered invalid, the Shiv Sena party chief did not have the unrestricted right to expel any member from the Shiv Sena party.

Therefore, Rahul Narvekar expressed his clear opinion that Uddhav Thackeray's right to expel Eknath Shinde from Shiv Sena party is not acceptable.

This result has brought relief to 16 MLAs of Eknath Shinde faction. The Uddhat Thackeray group has suffered a setback.

News agency PTI has quoted the UN report as saying that the Indian economy will grow faster than many peer economies. Its good performance has continued during the last few years.

India's GDP growth has been above six percent for the last several years and it is expected that this pace will continue in 2024 and 2025.

India's tripartite agreement with ULFA, announcement of removal of AFSPA from 85 percent of Assam

In Chhattisgarh, BJP has won 54 seats, leaving behind the ruling party Congress. Congress has won 35 seats in Chhattisgarh. In Rajasthan also, BJP defeated Congress by winning 115 seats. Congress has got 69 seats in Rajasthan.

Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, BJP was again successful in maintaining its government. BJP won 163 seats. Whereas Congress has won 66 seats.

Congress has won 64 seats in Telangana, leaving BRS behind. Whereas BRS has got 39 seats, BJP has got 8 seats and Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM has got 7 seats.

According to the changed schedule by the Election Commission, the counting of votes in Mizoram has started from 8 am on November 4, 2023, which was earlier to be held on November 3, 2023.

The main fight in Mizoram is between the ruling party Mizo National Front, Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) and Congress. The three parties have fielded candidates on all 40 assembly seats.

Mizo National Front had won 26 seats in the 2018 elections. At that time Congress could win only five seats, whereas in 2013 Congress had won 34 seats.

The date of Mizoram Assembly election results was advanced by one day to December 4, 2023. The first counting of votes was to take place along with the remaining four states on December 3, 2023.

Opposition alliance Zoram People's Movement has secured majority in Mizoram by winning 27 seats. Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has lost the election from his seat.

Lalthansanga of Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) has won from Aizawl East 1 by a margin of more than two thousand votes.

ZPM performed well and won 27 out of 40 seats.

Whereas Mizo National Front (MNF) of Zoramthanga has won nine seats. MNF is leading on 1 seat.

BJP has won two seats and Congress is leading on one seat.

What are the allegations against Nikhil Gupta?

In the indictment filed in the US court, Indian citizen Nikhil Gupta has been accused of giving contract for the murder of an American citizen in exchange for one lakh dollars in cash.

According to documents presented in the court, Nikhil Gupta, at the behest of an official working for the Indian government, contacted a hitman in America and gave him a contract to kill a Sikh separatist leader.

The indictment claims that during a conversation with an Indian official, Nikhil Gupta had told that he was involved in international smuggling of narcotics and weapons.

The indictment also claims that Nikhil Gupta is facing a criminal case in the Indian state of Gujarat in which he had agreed to carry out a murder in New York for an Indian official in exchange for help.

According to the document, the hitman whom Nikhil Gupta contacted was an undercover agent of the US Intelligence Department.
