Pakistan gave visa to Kulbhushan Jadhav's mother and wife

On Wednesday, the Pakistan High Commission gave the visa to Kulbhushan Jadhav's mother and wife to meet him. It is believed that on 25th December Jadhav could be met to his wife and mother.

A military court in Pakistan has sentenced Jadhav to death in the case of espionage and terrorism and he is currently lodged in a Pakistani jail.

Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Faizal said, "In New Delhi, the Pakistan High Commission gave the visa to Jadhav's mother and wife to visit Islamabad to meet him."

On December 17, 2017, Pakistan had said that got the visa application of Jadhav's mother and wife and it has been extended. Jadhav's mother and wife are likely to arrive in Pakistan via the Bagha border on Saturday. Sources said during a meeting on Monday, the National Security Committee of Pakistan had granted visas to Jadhav's mother Avantika Jadhav and his wife.

Then the Indian government had said that Jadhav's wife and his mother and an Indian diplomat should also be allowed to go. Jadhav's mother filed a visa application before the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi earlier this year.

Pakistan claims that Indian Navy commander Jadhav was working for India's leading intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). Islamabad says it was caught by Law Enforcement Agencies in Balochistan, Pakistan on March 3, 2016. India has said that Jadhav is a former naval officer and he was not working for RAW.

Pakistan's military court has sentenced Jadhav to death on charges of espionage. However, the International Court has banned it in its order. New Delhi has insisted on the demand for providing a lawyer to Jadhav, but Islamabad has refused to allow permission on such grounds that such help is not applicable in cases related to spies.
