Thousands of People land on the streets against Adani's Coal Mine Project in Australia
Thousands of people protested against the Carmichael coal mine project in various areas of Australia on Saturday in Adani's Australia $ 16.5 billion.
Due to environmental and financing issues, the project has already delayed several years.
Media reports have said that thousands of people landed on the streets in Sidney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Northern Queensland, Gold Coast and Port Douglas, and they took out rallies.
According to ABC News, Simon Fostaring in Sydney said, "If this mine project goes forward, it will lead us to a bad future and Australia is a country that is smarter than this."
About 2,000 people attended the protest in Sydney. Protestors launched the #stopadani campaign.
Sydney's # StopAdani agitator Issac Astil said that the construction of this mine is an international issue. When our environment is falling, in that time it is the largest coal mine in the Southern Hemisphere. That is why people are coming forward against it in Australia and around the world. Thousands of people are demanding that Adani should not be allowed to come.
It has been said in the news that about 2,000 people in Melbourne also came to the streets against this project.
On these planks was written 'coal = carbon dioxide (coal = CO2)' and 'protect our future' on plates.
Chief Executive of Australian Conservation Foundation Kelly O Shansi expressed the hope that it would have been a strong message to all that the taxpayers do not want the project to be subsidized by their money.
She said that it will affect every person. For this reason people want to stop this project in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide and Cairns.
200-300 on Koteseloy Beach in Perth and 250 people in Hobart raised a rally against the project.
