Finance Minister's press conference displays ignorance, arrogance, insensitivity: Congress

Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari criticized India's Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's Thursday briefing on the economic package, saying, "It is unfortunate to say this, but today's press conference was an unmatched display of ignorance, arrogance and insensitivity."

Manish Tiwari said, "We have heard that the Finance Minister has introduced the second installment of the bailout package, which has been conceptualized by this government and it is unfortunate to say, but his press conference today is about ignorance, arrogance and insensitivity."

Manish Tiwari said, "The most spectacular picture of the end of the Second World War was of a naval swinging happily with a girl in his arms in New York." Several decades later, defining the Vietnam War, it was a picture of a little girl trying to escape from a village. ''

Manish Tiwari said, "If there is one picture which will continue to haunt us, then there is a picture of millions of our laborers trying to reach their homes." We were expecting to hear something from the Finance Minister on what this government is doing to bring these people to a safe home. ''
